Adventurous women are invited to join me along with my incredible “sister” collaborators in Abruzzo for an unforgettable week in the Majella mountain, named for the beautiful Dea Maja, the goddess of growth and nurturing.

Trip Highlights:

SWIM in the turquoise Adriatic Sea

HIKE in the peaceful mountains of three national parks

EXPLORE rambling medieval villages

COOK farm-to-table dishes at a hands-on cooking class

SAVOR fine local wines in the bucolic countryside

BREATHE the mountain air during a nighttime hike

DATES… July 5th – 12th, 2020

WHO SHOULD COME …  Women – that is, if you’re a woman that enjoys amazing food and wine, stunning views, walking in nature (you do NOT need to be an expert hiker), and meeting other inspiring women from around the world!  So grab your mother, daughter, sister, cousin, girlfriend (or come on your own) and join us!

WHERE WE’LL STAY …We have chosen Agriturismo Pietrantica as your home for the week, a farm-stay/inn owned by the warm and loving Sanelli family. Have you ever traveled somewhere and wished you had a local friend with whom you could stay and have dinner?  Well, that’s what staying at Pietrantica is like – for a week, you live at the home of your Italian friends in a village in which it feels as if time has stood still.  Pietrantica is located in Decontra, a tiny hamlet at 900 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Majella National Park.  The complex is composed of old barns carefully restored using local stones, wood and terracotta.  You’ll experience family-style homemade breakfasts and farm-to-table dinners using organic ingredients from the farm and from other local producers. Marisa’s cooking matches her personality – filled with warmth, nurturing and humor. But be warned – she might make you sing for your supper!

Here’s What Our Guests Have to Say About Our Trips…

From Razia, Washington:
Michelle, thank you for providing an accessible trip for me to make visiting Abruzzo possible! It couldn’t have been made better through and through from start to finish – with the opportunities to explore so many magical places (I can’t forget those fireflies on our night hike!), and taste so many pieces of heaven – the saffron lasagna, Marisa’s amazing ravioli, and the zucchini blossoms, and all the cheeses, and everything! It was heavenly and I miss every minute of it every single day – it was such a gift to be able to partake in every daily adventure.

From Shirley, Maine:
Thank you for sharing your passion for Abruzzo with us. We all felt the fact that you are authentically in love with the place. Your wide eyed wonder for the simplicity of this motherland wrapped us in humility for the simple blessings of the earth. When folks ask how my trip was I found that my reply has been… It was just like going home! Again… grazie!

From Becca, Boston:
I am still talking non-stop about our trip. I loved it more than I can explain. Thank you so much for everything. My two friends are contacting you as we speak to sign up for next year! Can’t wait to join you for another adventure in Abruzzo!

From Linda D, New York:
You really outdid yourself in the planning and execution of our week in the Majella. We could not have asked for a better tour. Marisa and staying at Pietranica was a delight and our daily journeys were adventurous (to say the least!) and educational, not to mention DELICIOUS. I am so grateful that I was a part of your “maiden tour” of [la] Majella and Decontra. … MANY, MANY, THANKS for an amazing, unforgettable vacation.
