WHO SHOULD COME … Couples, friends, family members, solo travelers – just as long as you enjoy amazing food and wine, quaint medieval villages and sweeping Italian vistas!
WHERE WE STAY…For the first three nights of the tour, we stay at a complex of restored historic buildings that includes a “dimora storica” owned by our friends Francesca & Diego of CantinArte, as well as other charming properties in the medieval village of Navelli, considered one of I Borghi piu’ Belli d’Italia – one of the loveliest villages in Italy. Navelli is the cradle of saffron, Abruzzo’s prized “red gold” spice, and a gateway to the Gran Sasso mountains which are covered in a blanket of wildflowers in the spring. For the next three days of the tour, we stay at the rustic chic Castello di Semivicoli, a restored castle owned by Masciarelli, one of Abruzzo’s most lauded wine-growing families. Semivicoli is the essence of refined country living and there you’ll delight in the tasteful juxtaposition of old and new, enjoy a sommelier-guided wine-tasting and relax with a cocktail in the castle’s “secret garden.”

Getting To & From Abruzzo – Our private coach and driver will pick you up and drop you off in Rome’s Piazza Bologna, a “real” a Roman neighborhood brimming with locals and students. From there, we’ll whisk you off to Abruzzo in a private coach bus. We strongly recommend that you arrive in Rome at least one day before the start of the tour to ensure that you’ll meet the group on time (with the added benefit of sleeping off the jetlag and wandering the Eternal City for an evening.) We’d be happy to suggest a few of our favorite places to stay, things to do and foods to eat!
